Mum-of-two, Chantel Mila, who regularly posts cleaning, styling, and DIY hacks online to Instagram, recently shared her scrub-free hack that can leave your oven “shining”.

“Make your oven shine (minus the heavy scrubbing!)“ she told her 1.7 million followers.

“This mix is my go-to between deep cleans to keep your oven clean.”

All you need to replicate the mum’s mix is a lemon (cut into slices), water and some baking soda.

First, pour hot water into a heatproof bowl and add the lemon slices.

Then place the full bowl into a 180C oven, “for approx 20 mins or until steamy”.

Following that, and while the oven is still warm, “sprinkle” the baking soda onto the open glass door.

Dip a cloth into the lemon water bowl and “gently” wipe down the baking soda.

It will “cut through grease grime easily”.

“The citric acid in the lemon helps cut through grease and the baking soda makes scrubbing easy,” she says.

“The citric acid ... melts grease and leaves your oven shining.”

Mila’s fans were over the moon about the cleaning hack.

“Love this tip. I hate cleaning ovens. Mine really needs doing,” one person said.

“I have to do this after this week’s holiday! another wrote.

A third simply declared it as a “great idea”.

Others were left itching for more hacks.

“Need a little more hard core solution for deep clean and dense grease,” one wrote.

And the mum wasn’t going to disappoint, replying: “I shared my power paste a few weeks ago, which is great for deeper oven cleans.”
