Ezra Miller "One Of The Greatest Actors I Worked With" Says 'Daliland' Director

For all the noise out there about The Flash star Ezra Miller, from questionable altercations and actions in Hawaii and Iceland to a burglary charge in Vermont, we continually hear from various insiders that the actor holds a great sense of professional decorum, not just on film sets but with studio press tours as well.

Miller plays the younger Salvador Dali to Ben Kingsley’s older one of the legendary artist in the TIFF closing-night film premiere of Daliland. Director Mary Harron had been working on the project for a number of years and throughout it all, Miller’s “commitment never flagged” to the project; the director speaking with us today at the Deadline TIFF studio.

Miller found three days to step into the part between production of Fantastic Beasts and The Flash.

“We had an exchange of emails, I said, ‘Look at this book, read these books, there are some documentaries,'” Harron says.

Miller “arrived on set to my amazement with a complete worked-out performance.” They even insisted that their lines be done in French where required.

Harron exclaims that Miller is “one of the greatest actors I worked with” and hopes they “get the help” the actor needs.

In the wake of the Vermont charges, the non-binary actor recently released a statement that “having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.”

“I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior,” they added. “I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Miller reportedly met with Warner Bros. motion picture chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy to apologize for drawing negative attention, especially as The Flash heads toward a June 23 release date.
