Samsung Phone Buyers Must Arbitrate Camera Glass Breakage Claims

Nearly all named plaintiffs in a proposed class suit over allegedly shatter-prone camera glass in Samsung Galaxy S20 phones must arbitrate their claims, but two who opted out of the arbitration provision may proceed in a New Jersey federal court, an order said.

Jean Vasadi and 19 others alleged Samsung Electronics America Inc. touted the professional-grade camera, but failed to disclose that the phones’ rear camera glass could spontaneously break. The phones sold for up to $1,600.
