Why Emma Stone called Taylor Swift an ‘a–hole’ backstage at the Golden Globes

There is no bad blood between them.

Emma Stone jokingly called her friend Taylor Swift “an a – – hole” while speaking with the press following her win for best performance by a female actor in a musical or comedy film during the 81st Golden Globes.

“What an a – – hole, am I right?” the “Poor Things” star, 35, told reporters when asked about Swift, 34, who was spotted giving the “La La Land” actress a standing ovation on Sunday.

“I’ve known her for almost 20 years, so I’m very happy she was there. She was also nominated tonight, so I’m very happy she was there — but what an a – – hole,” Stone teased.

Swift, whose concert film was nominated for the new cinematic and box office achievement award (but lost to Margot Robbie’s “Barbie”) was not the only one elated over Stone’s win.

Jennifer Lawrence, who was competing against the “Cruella” star, could be seen enthusiastically clapping for her longtime friend and even mouthed “oh my God” and “mother!” when Stone’s name was announced.

Prior to Stone’s win, the “No Hard Feelings” star was shown mouthing to the camera: “If I don’t win, I’m leaving.”

Other nominees in the category included Robbie for “Barbie,” Fantasia Barrino for “The Color Purple,” Natalie Portman for “May December” and Alma Pöysti for “Fallen Leaves.”

Stone’s raucous win came during a staid awards ceremony, which was not helped by host Jo Koy who seemed to fall flat with every joke he told.

“I’m just taking this all in. I’m so excited to be here. This is a dream come true, not just for me, but for everyone here,” Koy, 52, said in his opening monologue.

The comedian was a late addition to the struggling award show after it was reported that Chris Rock, Ali Wong and the trio of Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman all refused to accept the gig.

It was then Koy’s monologue took a nosedive after he started blaming the show’s writers for the lackluster performance.

“Yo, I got the gig 10 days ago,” the comic said. “You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. I wrote some of these, and those are the ones you’re gonna laugh at.”

“Like I said, I didn’t write all of these,” he went on. “Someone else wrote that one.”

At one point, the “Easter Sunday” star took a jab at both Swift and the NFL, too.

At one point, Koy poked fun of Swift and the NFL, which seemed to annoy the Grammy winner. CBS

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL is that at the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,” Koy remarked, referring to Swift attending boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs games.

The broadcast cut to Swift sitting at a table and giving the comedian a death glare.

Koy’s comment angered several Swifties who wasted no time trolling the comedian on social media.

“Congrats you pissed off the most intense fandom. Enjoy your snakes,” one fan commented on his Instagram.

“Unnecessary rude joke about TS. JUST not nice! Being a host doesn’t mean insulting people. It’s not a roast. There are classy ways to go about things,” wrote another.
