Super Bowl 2024 player props: Before odds dip, bet on Travis Kelce ATD

The Super Bowl is national prop-betting day in the sports wagering world.

There is no shortage of occurrences that oddsmakers can get creative with in listing a designated market for.

That said, it’s easy to get caught in the haystack with all of these extra temptations swirling.

Gatorade color and coin-toss props are a quick-thrill shot in the dark, but the key is to remain focused on where there’s really an edge.

One that fits the bill for Super Bowl 58 is available on Travis Kelce, and it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift.

There seems to be a discrepancy across major sportsbooks on his anytime touchdown prop; his price is ranging from -125 up to even money at the time of this writing.

Kelce has scored in two of the three Super Bowls he has played in.

The year he didn’t find paydirt was the loss to the Buccaneers in 2021 — a game Patrick Mahomes targeted him 15 times and he amassed 133 yards.

The all-time leader in playoff receptions has caught 81 percent of targets that Mahomes has cast his way in the Super Bowl.

We thought there was a bit of regression between the two throughout the regular season; Kelce had his lowest touchdown total since 2019 at five. But doubting these two is simply a fool’s errand.

Kelce still ranked No. 2 overall among tight ends in red-zone targets this season. He held the highest catchable target rate at the position, too.

He caught all 11 of his targets in the AFC Championship against Baltimore, including one for his third score of the playoffs.

Betting on the NFL?

Anyone who’s ever watched a Chiefs game, “SportsCenter”, or simply has sports news notifications enabled on their phone knows that Kelce is a game-changing player; there shouldn’t be much convincing needed to testify that he’ll be matchup-proof in this Super Bowl.

What does require a little extra convincing is to slam the value on him to score before his odds take a dip.

I’d also give his first touchdown scorer odds a glance; he’s available at +800 at FanDuel.

Kelce has scored before anyone else in three of the Chiefs’ last six postseason games.
