Chris Rock hasn’t filed police report against Will Smith in Oscars slap

Chris Rock has not filed a police report against Will Smith for his on-stage slap, authorities said — while stressing that they would be ready to investigate if he changed his mind.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it was “aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program,” without naming the two Hollywood stars.

“The incident involved one individual slapping another,” the force said of Smith storming onstage over the joke about his wife’s hair loss from alopecia.

“The individual involved has declined to file a police report,” the LAPD said of 57-year-old comedian Rock.

However, the force stressed, “If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”

A rep for Rock didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

Amid calls for Smith to lose the Best Actor award he won soon after the smack, the Academy has so far only said that it “does not condone violence of any form.”

Pinkett Smith, 50 — who has previously spoken about losing hair from alopecia — had rolled her eyes in clear annoyance when Rock joked that she looked ready for a follow-up to “G.I. Jane,” the 1997 film in which Demi Moore shaved her head to portray a fictional Navy Seal candidate.

Her “Bad Boys” star husband was initially seen laughing at the quip — but then marched up to the stage as Rock paused with an “uh oh” while continuing to laugh, seemingly expecting a playful comeback.

Instead, Smith — who previously underwent extensive boxing training to star as Muhammad Ali — slapped Rock across the face and then repeatedly yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out your f—ing mouth!”

The initial strife started after Chris Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia.

“Oh, wow! Wow! Will Smith just smacked the s–t out of me,” Rock said, clearly still shocked as he joked that it was “the greatest night in the history of television.”

Within the hour, Smith, 50, won Best Actor and apologized to everyone but Rock,
while still claiming he wanted to just be “a vessel for love.”

“I’m hoping the Academy invites me back,” Will Smith said before walking off stage.
