Taylor Swift’s longtime publicist slammed rumors that the singer had secretly tied the knot with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn before their breakup.
Taking to social media Thursday, Tree Paine slammed celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi for claiming that the 12-time Grammy winner had a “marriage” ceremony in 2020 or 2021.
“Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi. There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post,” Paine wrote on X.
“It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these.”
Earlier that day, Deuxmoi shared an anonymous submission that insisted Swift and the British actor, with whom she parted ways in April, secretly said “I do.”
“She DID have a ceremony in 2020 or 2021 in the UK and it was described to me as a ‘marriage’ by more than one person,” the anonymous tip read. “It was NEVER made legal.”
Deuxmoi’s owner said on Instagram they would “die on this hill” and “put it on my tombstone.”
“I have no reason to lie, I could give a s–t what she does!!!!! I’m sorry she didn’t tell you guys about it in a song but just because she doesn’t sing about something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!!!”
Swift’s ill-fated relationship with Alwyn was thrust back into the spotlight this week with the release of her song “You’re Losing Me,” which many fans believe is about the Brit.
Shortly after Paine slammed the gossip site on social media, Deuxmoi criticized the publicist’s “choice of words” before it issued an apology to the singer.
“Well I make zero dollars from lying.. can publicists say the same,” the response read, despite the owner of the account having a lucrative book deal and podcast dubbed “Deux U.”

“Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to ‘pain & trauma’ after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words,” the response continued. “Either way, I apologize to Taylor.”
Swift parted ways with Alwyn in April after six years of dating.
The former couple’s breakup wasn’t “dramatic,” a source told Page Six at the time. “[The relationship] just ran its course.”
The notoriously private duo, who began their romance in 2016, have not addressed the split since calling it quits.
Alwyn has not been linked to anyone new.
As for Swift, the 33-year-old briefly moved on with 1975 frontman Matty Healy over the summer before going public with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce in September.
