The Kardashian-Jenner siblings have been frequently criticized for creating unrealistic beauty standards for young women over the years.
Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner, have all been called out for posting heavily edited photos on social media, some of which even tip into the zone of Photoshop fails.
From butts to bellybuttons and hands to toes, here’s a look back at the famous family’s most viral editing slip-ups.
Kim Kardashian
The Cousins Face Swap
When Kim posted pics of daughter Chicago at Disneyland with Khloé’s daughter True in 2021, something seemed off — and people noticed.
TikToker user @maiachondrialmembrane pointed out that True’s face had a better resolution than her cousin’s in the pics, and implied that True’s face was actually superimposed onto Kylie’s daughter Stormi Webster’s body.
Kim later admitted that the TikTok user’s claims were right, writing via her Instagram Stories, “The original [Disneyland] pics were Stormi!”
“However I asked @kyliejenner if I could post them and she said 😭 she wasn’t really feeling posting at the moment and so I respect that!” she continued. “But it wasn’t going to mess up my IG feed. Chi was wearing pink and it matched perfectly.”
The Muscle Eraser
In August 2022, Kim promoted her collaboration with Beats by Dre with photos and videos of herself enjoying some pool time, but an eagle-eyed TikTok user noticed that the reality star appeared to edit out her trapezius muscle.
“Kim K is notorious for Photoshopping out her traps,” the user, Caroline, began in the video. “Why? I don’t know, maybe it makes her neck look smaller?
Beach Blunder
In January 2022, Kim posted pictures from her Skims Swim collection photoshoot, only for fans to immediately notice that her leg appeared warped and featured a curve behind her knee.
“Kim what happened to your leg?” one fan commented, while another hinted on twitter, “Kim, Kim, Kim… Your right leg is, uh…”
The reality star was quick to delete and repost the photo without the error, but her followers were quick to take screenshots of the mishap.
The Curious Case Of the Missing Belly Button
Fans again alleged that something was “off” when Kim posted a poolside photo wearing a new Skims set in April 2022.
“You forgot to leave in your bellybutton!” one follower wrote, with another asking, “Where on earth is your belly button, yo??”
Kim denied the accusations by sharing a short video from the photoshoot to her Instagram Story, writing, “Come on guys… Seriously! This is so dumb! Claiming I photoshopped out my belly button????”
She then urged fans to head over to Skims to buy some high-waisted underwear to “conceal that saggy belly button” like she did.
Smells like Photoshop
Fans smelt something fishy… and it wasn’t the perfume! In Kim’s post promoting her perfume collaboration with Kylie Jenner in fall 2019, both sisters could be seen in colorful, one-piece suits – seemingly with six toes.
It appeared that someone may have added an extra toe on the ladies during the photo editing process.
At the time, a rep for Kim told Page Six that the confusing illusion wasn’t the result of Photoshop, but of the sideways angle of the star’s foot.
Braxton or Kardashian?
When Kim revealed her ’90s-inspired KKW Beauty collection in August 2019, fans accused the reality star’s team of altering her appearance so much that she looked like singer Toni Braxton.
“Am I the only one who didn’t recognise [sic] sis for like a good 10 seconds,” one follower wrote, with another adding, “Kim looks like 90s Toni Braxton on this photo.”
Fitness Flub
In February 2022, the reality star posted a photo of herself in her home gym and captioned it, “Chin up or the crown slips.”
But looks like Kim was the one slipping, as Instagram users pointed out the warped workout machine in the background, seemingly in an attempt to enhance her curves.
Picture Perfect
Back in 2018, the former “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star posted a picture from her vacation in Turks and Caicos wearing a neon pink bikini. She later deleted the snap after fans accused the star of yet another Photoshop fail.
Her right arm appeared to have an unnatural white stripe through it, which indicates the liquify tool had been used. Additionally, her right wrist seemed to be bent in a strange position as if it were missing some bones.
At the time, a rep for Kim told Page Six that the “image in question with the white mark is actually filtered through an app that adds in imperfections to the image. She has used it for several other photos seen on her Instagram where you can see cracked lines and white spots.”
Khloé Kardashian
Thigh Gap
Fans couldn’t help but notice a different kind of thigh gap in a photo Khloé uploaded in March 2023.
“bro who tf photoshops their pics so badly,” one user commented on the Instagram slideshow, which included a snap of the reality star’s right leg looking awkwardly bent.
While the Good American founder didn’t comment directly on the possible editing mishap, she did delete and re-upload the post with the questionable image removed altogether.
Butt-Bender
Khloé used a different method of deflection when she was called out for seemingly Photoshopping her behind in October 2022 — total denial.
“I never even posted this photo. Maybe my glam did but I didn’t. Also I mean…. The bent lines in the back lol please,” she tweeted after the image, which showed warped wallpaper and wonky molding, went viral.
She went on to clarify that she wasn’t accusing her glam team of editing the pic, but rather questioning its existence.
“Where’s the receipts that I did lol people are so weird,” she snapped.
Kourtney Kardashian
Animal-print Inflation
The eldest Kardashian sibling showed off her curves in a leopard-print robe in early 2022, but fans pointed out that her already plentiful derriere looked unrealistically large.
“This is embarrassing,” one person said, while another wrote, “At this point the bad photoshop must be intentional.”
The Poosh founder eventually deleted the pic from her Instagram Stories.
Kylie Jenner
Stripes Tell All
“Next time you photoshop your pictures make sure you’re not sitting in front of a pillow with stripes,” an Instagram user wrote on shot of Kylie and her longtime friend Anastasia Karanikolaou posing on an outdoor couch in July 2019.
The billionaire never commented on the Photoshop allegations and kept the picture up on her popular social media page.
Kendall Jenner
Lord Voldemort?
Kendall took the internet by storm in February 2023 with perhaps one of the most iconic KarJenner Photoshop fails of all time — “Voldemort” fingers.
The supermodel’s hand looked abnormally long in what was supposed to be a sexy bikini snap, causing it to become the talk of the web.
Even sister Kim joined in on the joke by giving “long handed @kendalljenner” photographer credit on one of her own Instagram posts.
