Buffalo Bills pass rusher Von Miller is available to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday following last week’s arrest in Dallas for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane spoke with reporters Wednesday, confirming Miller is back with the team in Orchard Park, N.Y. Beane said the team has been in “constant” communication with the league and they do not currently anticipate Miller being placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, which would deem him inactive.

“Right now, we don’t expect anything based on our conversations,” Beane said Wednesday. “Anytime it’s an ongoing investigation if something was uncovered, the commissioner does have that at any point if he feels there was something that, ‘Hey, this doesn’t look good,’ or something like that. If at any point that, they could. But, with our knowledge of what we have today, we don’t expect that.”

The Dallas Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Miller for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman, a police spokesperson confirmed Nov. 30. Miller turned himself in to police in the Dallas suburb of Glenn Heights, posted a $5,000 bond and was released the same day.

Police responded to a “major disturbance” call at 11 a.m. CT on Nov. 29. A preliminary investigation determined Miller and the victim “got into a verbal argument and the suspect assaulted the victim,” police said.

Beane said Wednesday the team is letting the legal process play out and the Bills also are following the league’s lead concerning the situation. He calls the situation “uncharacteristic” of Miller. Bills coach Sean McDermott, who spoke to reporters after Beane on Wednesday, declined to comment on the matter.

The Bills signed the two-time Super Bowl champion to a six-year, $120 million deal in 2022. Miller tore his ACL in November of that season before starting 2023 on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. He made his 2023 debut against the Jaguars in October.
