Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud was ruled out by the team Saturday for its Week 15 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Stroud suffered a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets, and entered concussion protocol. He was not at the team facility this week, missing each of the Texans’ practices, and he did not travel to Tennessee for Sunday’s game.

This will be the rookie’s first game being sidelined with injury in his young NFL career.

Stroud, 22, has amassed 3,631 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, five interceptions and three rushing touchdowns through his first 13 games. He’s led Houston to a 7-6 start, as it sits tied for second in the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts behind the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-5).

The Texans and Titans will square off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
