Erik ten Hag believes Manchester United’s players sharing penalty duties illustrates the “team spirit” within the squad.
United defeated Everton 2-0 in the Premier League on Saturday thanks to goals from two penalty kicks, with captain Bruno Fernandes converting the first spot kick before allowing team-mate Marcus Rashford to take, and score, the second.
Fernandes is United’s primary penalty taker, but the captain has occasionally allowed teammates the opportunity to score from the spot.
“This shows the team spirit,” Ten Hag told TNT Sports after the match.
