Ana De Armas

Ana de Armas (born April 30, 1988) is an actor born in Havana, Cuba. Her career started internationally, first in Cuba with a leading role in the romantic adventure film "Una Rosa de Francia (2006)" and then in Spain as a cast member on the series "El Internado" (2007-2010). She moved to Los Angeles after wrapping her run on "El Internado" hoping to make a break in Hollywood. Her first English-speaking role came courtesy of Eli Roth, who cast her opposite Keanu Reeves in his home invasion thriller "Knock Knock (2015). The crime comedy "War Dogs" (2016) followed, where de Armas played the female lead opposite Miles Teller and Jonah Hill.

De Armas' first Hollywood tentpole was Warner Bros.' "Blade Runner 2049" (2017), directed by Denis Villeneuve and produced by original "Blade Runner" director Ridley Scott. She played an AI hologram named Joi opposite Ryan Gosling. She went on to earn critical acclaim for her performance in Rian Johnson's mystery "Knives Out" (2019), which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination for best actress in a motion picture comedy/musical. She experienced another Hollywood tentpole by joining Daniel Craig in his final James Bond movie, "No Time to Die" (2021), and she reunited with Reeves to headline her own "John Wick" spinoff movie, "Ballerina" (2024). De Armas earned some of the best reviews of her career for portraying Marilyn Monroe in Netflix's controversial biopic "Blonde," which made her the first Cuban actor to be nominated for the Academy Award for best actress.
