Florence Pugh

English actress Florence Pugh made her first acting debut in the 2014 film “The Falling.” The buzz around Pugh grew after her 2016 starring role as the young bride who turns on her abusive husband in “Lady Macbeth.” The next huge hit was her role in Ari Aster’s horror film “Midsommar” (2019). Aster’s colorful and bright tale of a European trip gone terribly wrong coupled with Pugh’s gripping reactions cemented the film in the annals of horror history. Next up, Pugh would take on the demanding role of Amy March in Greta Gerwig’s translation of “Little Women” (2019). In previous versions of this film the character’s growth from little girl to woman would be played by two actors, but Pugh tackled Amy’s entire journey herself, much to the delight of critics. Her work on “Little Women” would land her an Academy Award nomination in 2020.

After several critical successes, Pugh was courted by Marvel to take on the role of Yelena for Marvel’s “Black Widow” and “Hawkeye,” playing the sister to Scarlett Johansson's Natalia (aka Black Widow). Her role in Olivia Wilde’s science fiction drama “Don’t Worry Darling” (2022) saw Pugh acting against pop star Harry Styles, who replaced the originally cast Shia LaBeouf. The production of this film was mired by COVID delays and copious tabloid rumors that all culminated in a fascinating and fantastic premiere at the Venice Film festival. There, “Miss Flo” (a nickname the director Wilde gave Pugh in leaked recorded video messages from LaBeouf) showed up in a stunning sparkling ensemble with her co-star Chris Pine snapping pictures from a disposable camera. The film went on to make $87 million worldwide. Her next hotly-anticipated roles include parts in “Dune: Part Two” and reprising her role of Yelena for Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” flick.
