Olivia Wilde
Olivia Jane Cockburn, known professionally as Olivia Wilde, is an actor and director who was born on March 10, 1984 in New York City. In her early years, Wilde studied at Dublin's Gaiety School of Acting. Her first roles were in teen fare like the 2003 series "Skin" and 2004's "The Girl Next Door." Her first high-profile gig was a recurring role in 2004 on primetime soap "The O.C.," where her bisexual character Alex Kelly dated two lead characters, Seth Cohen and Marissa Cooper.
Wilde continued working by appearing in movies like 2006's "Alpha Dog" and "Turistas." Her big break came with a key role on the medical drama "House." Her character, Remy "Thirteen" Hadley, appeared on seasons 4-8 of the show starting in 2007. Post-"House," Wilde focused more on her film career, starring in the 2010 blockbuster "Tron: Legacy," 2011's studio comedy "The Change-Up," 2011 would-be blockbusters "Cowboys & Aliens" and "In Time," and 2013 indies "Drinking Buddies" and "Her."
The actor then starred in a series of projects that didn't take off, including a lead role in the 2016 Martin Scorsese co-created music drama series "Vinyl," and film roles in fare such as the 2015 horror movie "The Lazarus Effect," 2018's romantic drama "Life Itself" and the 2019 Clint Eastwood project "Richard Jewell."
In recent years, Wilde has turned her attention behind the camera, receiving critical acclaim for her directorial feature debut, 2019's "Booksmart." Wilde's next movie was the twisty 2022 drama "Don't Worry Darling," in which she co-starred.
