Pink Floyd
As key architects of progressive rock, Pink Floyd have nearly no competition. Their 1967 debut with singer Syd Barrett, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, is still seen as a psychedelic masterpiece, and ambitious David Gilmour- and Roger Waters-helmed works like 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon and 1979's The Wall remain classic rock touchstones.
