We have now entered NFL Draft month, as the big day is less than four weeks away. While this 2022 class is considered to be deep in general, it's not exactly lauded for its quarterback play. Still, there are a few prospects who have potential to be NFL standouts.

Liberty's Malik Willis is considered by many to be the top quarterback in this class, and even if you disagree, he has the best odds to be the first quarterback off the board at -200 over at Caesars Sportsbook. He's a dual-threat weapon who can hurt defenses with his high-powered arm or with his legs in the open field. No matter what position he's in or whether he's on the run outside the pocket, the ball flies out of his hand almost effortlessly.

Willis threw for 2,857 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in 13 games played for the Flames this past season. While he didn't exactly face the stiffest competition and may be better suited to sit a year behind an established veteran at the next level, Willis is seen as the quarterback with the most "upside" -- which is a characteristic most teams hold in high regard.

Our CBS Sports NFL Draft experts have Willis going as high as No. 2 overall to the Detroit Lions, and as low as No. 18 overall to the New Orleans Saints. Below, we will break down some of our best landing spots for Willis.

Tennessee Titans

Let's begin with an interesting one. The Titans should be in the market for a quarterback in this year's draft. This signal-caller won't start immediately, as he would serve behind Ryan Tannehill, but he would be the franchise quarterback in waiting. Depending on how Tannehill performs in 2022, he may not be waiting very long.

The Titans overcame quite a bit of adversity last season to acquire the No. 1 seed in the AFC. That speaks to Tennessee's coaching staff and its team in general, but it's fair to wonder if the Titans' ceiling is limited by their quarterback play. For the most part, Tannehill has played like one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL ever since he took over for Marcus Mariota in 2019, but his three-interception outing against the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs and his postseason performances in general have left much to be desired. It has been enough for Tennessee to at least begin contemplating the future. With Willis' upside and with him potentially not being ready to start immediately, the Titans would be a great fit -- although it's not likely to happen.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is still searching for its next quarterback after trading Russell Wilson away to the Denver Broncos, and how the franchise handles this upcoming season will be interesting to follow. The Seahawks have stars on both sides of the ball, but also parted ways with leaders like Wilson and Bobby Wagner. Now armed with the No. 9 overall pick thanks to the trade with Denver, Seattle could choose its new franchise quarterback with that selection.

The bottom line is that the Seahawks are facing a rebuild, but that rebuild could be expedited with the right quarterback in place. A dual-threat, big-armed athlete would certainly fit the bill, and could replace some of what Wilson brought to this offense.

Carolina Panthers

Barring a trade, it's possible the Panthers could be the first team to draft a quarterback later this month. Carolina is still searching for its franchise signal-caller after making weak additions in Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold, and could be ready to go the draft route as opposed to trading for lesser starters.

Matt Rhule is seen as the coach with the hottest seat entering 2022, but hitting on a young, athletic quarterback could be something that saves his job. Furthermore, the Panthers actually may not be that bad of a team. They have good weapons in D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson and Christian McCaffrey, Carolina gave the offensive line a facelift this offseason, and then the defense has young playmakers. Carolina completely flopped down the stretch in 2021, but remember how this team got up for Cam Newton's first game back in Arizona? The Panthers could be fun to watch if they got good quarterback play.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons went out and signed Mariota this offseason, but he is going to have to prove he's a franchise quarterback. It wouldn't surprise anyone if Atlanta drafted a quarterback with its No. 8 overall pick. Arthur Smith is a smart, offensive-minded head coach who could work wonders with an electric playmaker under center. Not that Willis is the same kind of player Michael Vick was, but he's someone who could give fans a bit of deja vu at times. The Falcons are another team that is rebuilding, and finding their franchise quarterback is the most important goal right now.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers may be the best potential landing spot for Willis. It's true that Pittsburgh went out and signed Mitchell Trubisky in free agency, but it's not like the Steelers committed to him for the long run. He signed a two-year deal that made him the 29th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, per Over The Cap. Hypothetically, I imagine Trubisky starts the season and then is replaced by Willis late in the year if things aren't going according to plan. So, he will get a chance to sit a bit and watch/learn. Moving forward, Willis has a reliable young talent at running back in Najee Harris, an up-and-coming tight end in Pat Freiermuth, and a couple of talented receivers with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. The Steelers are going to be competitive, but they can be contenders if they get the right quarterback play.

The Steelers are a well-run organization that is searching for their new franchise quarterback for the first time in almost 10 years. They will consider drafting a quarterback in the first round, although will likely have to trade up from their place at No. 20 overall if they want Willis.
