Bio

Rafael Leitao is a Brazilian grandmaster, commentator, and content creator. Leitao learned to play chess when he was six and quickly became a prominent player, winning the Pan American Chess Championship eight times in different categories. Leitao also won the U-12 World Youth Chess Championship title in 1991 and the U-18 category in 1996. He then proceeded to win the Brazilian championship seven times (1996, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2011, 2013, and 2014).

Leitao is also a successful content creator, having more than 53,000 followers on YouTube and 13,000 on his Twitch channel (as of June 2022). Leitao is also famous for his career as a commentator, hosting events for Chess.com alongside fellow grandmaster Krikor Mekhitarian
