Remedy Games have just released the long-awaited Alan Wake sequel, and players can now return to Bright Falls alongside the titular writer and new character, Saga Anderson. While Wake is stuck in the harrowing Dark Place, Saga is investigating mysterious occurrences in the spooky town.

Based on our review of the game, a single playthrough of Alan Wake 2 should take between 20 – 25 hours to finish.
This makes it the longest Remedy game to date, as Sam Lake had previously teased in an interview with Kinda Funny.
“We have always internally felt that we need to find ways to do longer games, because it’s just like, people are looking at it from a value of money perspective as well. So Control certainly was our longest game to date, and Alan Wake 2 is going to be longer than that. 20 hours plus.”
According to HowLongToBeat, a main story playthrough of Alan Wake 2 should take approximately 14 and a half hours, with a completionist run taking up to 28 hours, so you can expect to spend plenty of time revisiting Bright Falls, and the Dark Place.
Given the game’s unique detective features and split perspectives, there’s every chance just one playthrough isn’t enough to see and do it all. Thus, as Remedy’s longest game yet, and perhaps with plenty of replay value too, it seems Alan Wake 2 is shaping up to be quite a big game.
