Mortal Kombat 11 is the best selling game of April and is already the second best selling game of 2019

The gory fighter managed to be the best selling title in the month of April across all platforms including the Nintendo Switch

Mortal Kombat 11 was released on April 23, 2019. Apparently, Mortal Kombat 11 was the highest selling game for the month of April — specifically referring to the four week period of April 7th through May 4th.

Not only this, but it has also been reported that Mortal Kombat 11 is so far the second highest selling game in 2019. Only Kingdom Hearts 3 has been able to secure more sales thus far.

Interestingly enough, Mortal Kombat 11 was also the best-selling game of April 2019 for every platform it was released on. In other words, the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, and the Xbox One.

A third party game hasn't been the best selling title on the Nintendo Switch since the release of Ubisoft's Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle back in September 2017.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate also managed to have excellent sales in the month of April. Despite being released back in December 2018, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had the fifth highest number of sales in

Unfortunately, no sales numbers were provided for Mortal Kombat 11. Notably though, Mortal Kombat X's overall lifetime sales are currently at 11 million. Signs are good that Mortal Kombat 11 will see similar success.
