‘Destiny 2’ Reveals Festival Of The Lost Sniper, Here’s Its Origin Trait And Perks

Following

Yesterday, Bungie debuted a new image that showed a few different things about Destiny 2’s upcoming Festival of the Lost, including the finalized versions of the mech armor sets that beat out monsters in a fan vote months ago. Some new masks, including Rhulk. And then a new sniper rifle that is themed to match the mech armor.

Is this thing going to be any good? I’ll let you be the judge of that.

If you consider uh, perk lists spoilers, I guess you can turn back now, but these have been listed in the game’s database via light.gg for a long while now, as has the new Origin Trait, which should be dropping on all Festival of the Lost weapons now, including past ones we’ll be able to get. I’m not sure if past weapons may be getting upgraded perk pools or not as well.

The only thing I don’t know about this thing still is the name. But it’s an arc, aggressive frame sniper rifle. And here are its perk options:

Column 1:

  • Perpetual Motion
  • Triple Tap
  • Snapshot Sights
  • No Distractions
  • Clown Cartridge
  • Autoloading Holster

Column 2:

  • Vorpal Weapon
  • Opening Shot
  • High Impact Reserves
  • Moving Target
  • Swashbuckler
  • Slickdraw

Some decent PvP and PvE options in there, but I doubt it will replace most Firing Line snipers for PvE as Vorpal just isn’t as good in most situations. The only brand new perk here is Slickdraw, which sacrifices target acquisition for handling, which seems like a…risky pick for a sniper. But maybe okay if you have good enough natural aim.

The origin trait is Search Party:

“This weapon is granted faster aim down sights speed and movement speed while aiming down sights when no allies are near.”

Again, this should be dropping on past FOTL weapons too, Horror Story, Braytech Werewolf and Jurassic Green, though increased ADS is more relevant for a sniper, I suppose. I’m picturing this trait with Snapshot Sights and Slickdraw and Fluted Barrel should be…about as fast as you can ADS a sniper, I imagine. I do not believe this weapon will be able to be crafted, so you will have to hunt rolls the old fashioned way.

It seems likely that we may get more Festival of the Lost info in the TWAB today, though Bungie often does separate releases for event information outside the TWAB itself. I expect we will probably be doing a fresh batch of Haunted Lost Sectors this time around now that the Haunted Forest is no more. Stay tuned for more info as it comes in.
