Where the biggest winning Michigan Lottery tickets were sold in August

August was a hot month for Michigan Lottery players. Twenty-four tickets purchased last month won prizes of $100,000 or more, according to the Michigan Lottery. It's the most prizes of $100,000 or more won in a single month so far this year.

The biggest prize was an $8.75-million win on a Lotto 47 ticket sold in Kentwood during a run where the jackpot reached the ninth largest amount in the game's history.

Other big wins included $2 million on a Mega Millions ticket sold online in Freeland, a $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket sold in Livonia and $1 million on a $1,000 Large instant ticket sold in Detroit.
