Dear City of Providence Employees:
Since our last communication on this matter on January 25, and in accordance with the City’s Employee Vaccination Policy, the Department of Human Resources has continued to work with employees and department management to ensure all employees had adequate education and opportunities to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine and update their vaccination status with the Department of Human Resources.
In order for employees to remain in good standing with the City and in order to avoid further disciplinary action, they must immediately provide proof of vaccination or an appointment to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine by Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Employees who fail to comply with the City’s vaccination policy by March 1 will be subject to suspension.
Today, a written warning will be issued to all employees who have failed to comply with this City Policy to date. This warning will also be entered into their personnel file.
Employees who have been unable to obtain a vaccine are strongly encouraged to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine and provide the City proof of vaccination to avoid being subject to suspension. Any employee seeking assistance to book a vaccine appointment is encouraged to call the Mayor's Center for City Services at 3-1-1 to speak with a staff member who can provide assistance in English or Spanish.
Sincerely,
The Department of Human Resources
