LANSING, MI — Tucked away in a second floor conference room of a hotel in downtown Lansing, Shawn Sutherlin makes a plea to let others like him find justice.

Sutherlin was 16-years-old when first approached by now convicted sex offender Gerald Sutter, who refereed at the same Lansing sports facility the teen worked concessions at. He said Sutter identified him as a vulnerable kid, just before he “groomed, manipulated, isolated and then sexually exploited (me) at my own fear of judgement.”
