LANSING, MI — Michigan is one of dozens of states where abortion could be illegal should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision which has guaranteed abortions for Americans for nearly 50 years.

Politico reported Monday night the U.S. Supreme Court will overturn Roe, according to a first draft of the majority opinion. Many have anticipated the move in recent months — including Gov. Gretchen Whitmer — since Justice Amy Comey Barrett’s confirmation furthered the court’s conservative majority.
