NieR: Automata Designer is Open to the Idea of a Switch Port

That would be nice! Every new system needs all the games it can get during the first year, especially the Switch.

That being said, this isn't a game that interests me. Though I think it will definitely appeal to the more core gamer.

Yes, I would buy the game day 1 if it was released onto the Nintendo Switch.

I will consider any PlatinumGames game on any system I own. I know nothing about NieR or its sequel so it's not an instabuy, but anything the studio does is worth looking at.

And I'm including Star Fox Zero, haters.

could it be that the switch is really easy to develop for, or is it impossible to tell at this point? all i ever hear from would-be wii u devs is that they've run into some unforeseen trouble, but i don't remember what they were saying in 2012.

Played the demo on PS4. I thought it was alright, not a day 1 purchase but I might get it someday. There was some controversy over the main characters butt, but I don't care about stuff like that.

Add some content that wasn't in the first release and I'll buy it twice.

Nier might share one or two of Bayonetta's trappings but the gameplay is entirely its own.

Also forgot they were both made by Platinum which I should have realized. This just has me more hyped for the next gen leap than any of their other games.

I'm sure Platinum Games are working on something for Switch. Wouldn't be surprised if Bayonetta 1+2 get ported over too.

Yes, please. And the previous Nier(s) while we're at it. Automata PS4 demo was very convincing in what gameplay and lore it offered, the music and designs being on par as well.

Just saw the trailer for this. My answer is YES I would definitely consider a purchase. C'mon it's platinum games they rarely disappoint. The first nier was hot garbage though. This sequel by platinum looks much better.

As I only own Nintendo consoles I'm happy that it also comes out on PC and will probably buy it there. But I will definitely read some reviews first. As much as I loved Bayonetta 1&2 and Wonderful 101 Platinum Games have done a lot of mediocre stuff lately.

Not sure how to feel about this. I mean, yay on the latest Platinum game coming to Switch but that response sorta rubbed me the wrong way.

Yoko Tara is as insane as Hideo Kojima so I welcome anything he has to offer for the Nintendo Switch.

I'm sure they would port it to the WiiU if SE paid them enough too.

The only thing this tells us is that the guys at platinum simply do whatever they're paid to do. To be honest the joking comment about a SNES version only makes it less likely a Switch port is in the works - it would be entirely up to Square Enix.

I'd definitely prefer a Bayonetta 3 over this NieR game anyway, and I'm sure a lot of others would too.

I'll borrow my mates ps4 (as I do now and then to play certain games) and play Nier Automata coz it does look really good and I love platinum games, please do a switch port I'd defo buy it! ... Oh and give us 3 Switch exclusives please! Bayonetta 3, vanquish 2( with 1) and madworld 2!

I was always intrigued by the series, and even though I have a PS3 and 4 I never really got to play any of them. Do "a Bayonetta", Platinum Games! That means bundle both with Switch specific content. And it also means make Bayonetta 3. Please. 2 is one of my all time favourite games.

I played Nier demo on the PS4, it's boring. Doesn't feel like a Platinum Game's game. Too tame and none of the craziness of Bayonetta, it felt more like Starfox Zero. The only innovative thing is the changing camera angles that makes the game looks like top-down, side-scrolling or 3rd person shooter.

Don't port this game to Switch! The graphic downgrade will be apparent, make a new Bayonetta.

I love Platinum so please do this Square.

I'd be in for sure. Once they're done on this port, the can work on making Bayonetta a Trilogy and bring all games to the switch.

i've seen more than one outlet say nier automata is to this generation what bayonetta was to the previous one, and devil may cry to the one before that, bring it on! i put off playing the demo until today when i finally got myself a ps4 pro.

Would be great. Nier is one of my most anticipated games this year.

I was looking to get this for my PS4, not at release, but in the next few months. I will hold off to see if there is news for the Switch, I would rather have the ability to play any game in the go. Unless it becomes gimped beyond all recognition that is.

With that said, I would rather have kingdom hearts than bayonetta or automata.

Maybe for NiER? Now give me probably for a Dark souls Trilogy! Dark souls with all dlc, would intrigue some people buy the system by itself. Portable Dark souls? Hell yes! Then again that's amazing draw of switch, not just back to face to face gaming, portable AAA titles!

Yeah this won't happen! Should be advocating for KH3 to hit Switch consoles. I think Sony has a lock on the KH remasters. Not sure though. I also wonder if Switch will be able to run a game like KH3 without problems.

@Nintendian I had a very similar feeling and reaction.. you can tell it has polish but something is just missing.. I don't expect the demo is going to give you everything but something doesn't feel right..

I would buy it again for sure.
