Samsung initially released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta update to the Galaxy S22 series a couple of months ago in South Korea, Germany, and the US. A few weeks later, the second beta version of the software was released in China, India, and the UK. The third beta version was supposed to roll out on Monday, but it has been postponed.
According to a post by a forum moderator in the Samsung Members community in China, the company has postponed the release of the next beta version of One UI 5.0 to Friday (September 23, 2022). The next beta version is expected to bring major improvements to the quality of animations and transitions, along with the usual bug fixes and performance improvements. However, the company is reportedly struggling to fix those issues.
Samsung is expected to release four or five One UI 5.0 beta updates before it releases the stable and public version of the software. The company might release the Android 13-based stable One UI 5.0 beta update to the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 series before the end of this year. Other phones that could get the update around that time frame include the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
One UI 5.0 features list
One UI 5.0 brings per app language, better Color Palette feature, improved stock apps, slight design tweaks to quick setting toggles and notifications, better privacy and security, a cleaner design, stacked widgets, and a new Connected Devices section in the Settings app. Gallery, My Files, Photo Editor, Samsung DeX, Samsung Keyboard, and Video Editor features have received new and improved features.
Samsung has also added the ability to extract the text using the Camera, Gallery, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Keyboard apps. Bixby and Bixby Routines have more options, and the Camera app now has the histogram feature in the Pro mode. RAM Plus can be customized, while the Edge Panel can display app names. There's a detailed Wi-Fi Diagnostics tool, too.
