What’s more frustrating than getting a pop-up on your iPhone that says you’re all out of storage — just as you were about to save a video? Ordinarily, you would probably rush to delete a million photos and messages so that you can save your work on your device. But that involves making tough choices about what can stay and what has to go. The good news it that you don’t have to delete a single thing, as long as you know how to back up your data. This is the best way to get more storage on your iPhone without deleting anything.

When your phone is out of storage or getting there fast, iCloud is your best friend.

“One way to get more storage on your phone without deleting anything is to move some of your phone storage exclusively to the cloud so you can still access it anywhere on your phone, and delete it from your phone's physical storage drive,” says Tech Expert Stacy Caprio at Deals Scoop. “One way to do this is moving your pictures or videos to a Google Cloud Storage drive, for example, and then deleting them from our physical phone.”

Aaron Haynes, CEO of Loganix, agrees that the Cloud can preserve everything you want to save while freeing up phone space for new data.

“Apple's iCloud will give you a few GBs of storage for free, but you can upgrade for as little as $0.99 per month,” Haynes says. “Saving your files and photos on the cloud will free up the local space on your iPhone, making your phone faster, and less annoying. The Cloud is actually an incredible new technology that's gotten a lot of updates over the past few years, so you don't have to worry bout your personal data.”

While you may be required to pay a little extra each month to have enough iCloud storage for all of the files you don’t want to delete, there’s one tip that is completely free and will automatically free up space.

“One of the easiest ways to get back your iPhone storage space is to clear your browser cache,” says Akram Assaf, co-founder and chief technology officer at Bayt. “Just go to your settings, find your browser, and check the option to clear history and browsing data. This method will not delete anything from your phone, but you may have to wait a few extra seconds when loading new websites. On a positive note, you will have a lot more storage space.”

These two simple strategies will save you the frustration of dealing with a device that is filled to the brim and can’t store more data.
