They've been singing to each other for years —  but now for the first time, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are doing so on the same song.

On Friday, the country music couple released their first-ever duet, "Chasing After You."  The ballad (written by Brinley Addington and Jerry Flowers) is about two people who can't stop themselves from falling in love.

"Every time you say we're done, you come back to the love you were running from," they harmonize on the chorus. "...Don't know why I let you but I do/ Guess I love chasing after you."

"From the first time I heard it, it really reminded me of (our) story," Morris told CBS.

The couple, who met through a songwriting session in Nashville, married in 2018. In March 2020, Morris and Hurd welcomed their first child, a son named Hayes Andrew Hurd. According to Hurd, "Chasing After You" was held by several artists until it eventually came to him a couple of years ago.

"I remember we were on a beach in the Cayman Islands," he said in an interview with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country.  "I think it was the first trip we ever took together, and Maren was like, 'I want to sing on that song with you.' So this is years in the making."

Now that her "RSVP Tour" has been formally canceled, Morris has ramped up work on new music, and revealed plans to get back in the studio with Greg Kurstin, who produced her hits "The Bones" and "Girl." Hurd has released three EPs and numerous singles since 2017, and will release future recordings on the Arista Nashville imprint, moving from RCA Nashville.
