Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 14 game

The Detroit Lions (9-3) remain in the picture for the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff, and they'll attempt to boost their case against the Chicago Bears (4-8) in Week 14.

It was a wild day in New Orleans for the Lions, who raced to a 21-0 lead and saw it get cut to 24-21 before holding on against the Saints. Still, the win helped widen the lead in the NFC North for Detroit to three games with six games left in the season.

With what seems like the No. 1 pick in the draft wrapped up thanks to Carolina, Chicago is continuing to stay competitive, as the Bears are coming off a wild "Monday Night Football" win against Minnesota. Justin Fields had a clutch final drive. With last week off, can Chicago show big improvement against the top team in its division?

Lorenzo Reyes: Lions 24, Bears 17

Chicago is coming off its bye and the Lions have been turning the ball over more in recent weeks, but Detroit has the more complete roster, the speed at receiver that can exploit a weak Bears secondary and no defense is worse in the NFL in the red zone than Chicago’s. With the line a little lower than usual, I think this is a good spot to back Detroit.

Tyler Dragon: Lions 28, Bears 20

The Lions are off to their best start since 1962. Detroit’s defense is a concern, but the team should be able to run by the Bears in Chicago (literally). The Lions had two rushing touchdowns and averaged 5.2 yards a carry in their previous win over the Bears.

Safid Deen: Lions 30, Bears 24

This game will be high-scoring until a defense steps up, and that’s where Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will come into play. I’ll take Detroit on the road in this one.

Victoria Hernandez: Lions 20, Bears 15

The Lions like to live life on the edge. Their Week 11 win over Chicago was just one of their many come-from-behind, back-and-forth or stave-off wins. Don’t be shocked if the Bears pull off the upset because of the Lions’ inconsistency, but Detroit is the more well-rounded team.

Jordan Mendoza: Lions 29, Bears 24

The close spread may seem like a surprise to some, but this has all the making of being a trap game for Detroit. The Lions defense has been shaky recently and Justin Fields could run all over them just like he did in Week 11. But this time, Detroit doesn't have to play from behind, and they can prevent Chicago from pulling off the upset.
