Leslie Carter, the musician sister of Aaron Carter and

former

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, has died in upstate New York at age 25, E! News has

confirmed

.

"Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter," the family said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time."

Details about Carter’s death have not been released.

Carter, who reportedly gave birth to a daughter in April, according to Access Hollywood, appeared with her siblings on the E! reality show, "House of Carters." Her song, "Like Wow," was featured on the "Shrek" soundtrack in 2001.

Update: Jack Ketsoyan, Nick Carter's publicist, released the following statement on behalf of the singer:

Update No. 2: An autopsy performed on Carter showed "no visible signs of trauma," a coroner from Chautauqua County told E! News. A toxicology report will be done to determine cause of death. The results will be "made public at the discretion of the family."

Update No. 3: The police report, obtained by ABC News, indicates that three prescription drugs — "Olanzapine, used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, Cyclobenzaprine, a muscle relaxant, and Alprazolam, used to treat anxiety or panic disorders" — were near Carter at the time of her death. "Overdose" is listed under "incident type."
