South Carolina Democratic primaryelection results 2024

President Biden is projected to win the South Carolina Democratic primary. The Palmetto State is the first state that will award Democratic delegates because New Hampshire held its January primary in violation of party rules. This was the first primary where Biden was officially on the ballot – his New Hampshire primary win was the result of a successful write-in campaign.

Polls closed at 7 p.m. Eastern and 55 delegates will be allocated based on the results. The state’s Republican presidential primary will be Feb. 24.
