A Russian national has been charged with a fraud conspiracy related to interference in American politics.

The federal charges were filed in the Eastern District of Virginia. U.S. authorities say Artem Lifshits, 27, is an employee of the Russian troll factory known as the Internet Research Agency and a manager in a Russian political influence operation called “Project Lakhta.”
