    Airasia Super App aims to become leading travel and lifestyle booking platform in ASEAN – Manila Bulletin

    Mass signing ceremony held with over 50 key hotel groups on board

    Since Airasia Super App’s launch in 2020, the platform has become a favorite travel buddy for jetsetters out there. From booking flights, hotels, rides, ordering food, and more, the app has shown how effective and efficient it can be all while adding more perks for users to enjoy.

    To further the brand’s solid ranking as the fastest growing travel and lifestyle platform, Airasia Super App held a mass signing ceremony with over 50 key hotel groups from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

    The symbolic event, which was held at De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan at The Linc KL, restated that the hotel booking platform will offer direct hotel partners leverage on Airasia’s strong brand presence and connectivity network. The partners will also have contact to the 1.25 million database of active users who are scouring for travel deals every day.

    “When the travel industry was in full force, we were flying 100 million guests just on the AirAsia network alone, which translates into a valuable customer base,” said Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A. “This customer base is something that no other online travel agent (OTA) can offer aside from the Airasia Super App because we are the only travel super app that also owns an airline group. With the revival of travel now and the capability of the Airasia Super App’s strength as an OTA–reinforcing our hotel booking platform is crucial to capture and fulfill market demand.”

    This means that the hotel partners will be able to leverage on a natural traveler base, and together the partnership can offer customers enhanced travel experience in one seamless app.

    As a hotel booking platform, Airasia Super App offers consumers a choice of over 700,000 hotels worldwide, the ability to earn and redeem Airasia points, and to even pair their flights and hotel bookings in one seamless transaction via SNAP (the brand’s flight and hotel combo platform.) Airasia Super App’s hotel booking platform will also guarantee the best hotel prices on the platform, with a “Best Price Guaranteed” scheme, which will be launched soon aside from special members’ rates.

    Aside from this, users of the app can now customize their entire holiday itinerary with Airasia Holidays, book alternative modes of transport such as buses, ferries, and more to their destinations via Airasia Transport, and even do duty-free shopping on Airasia Travelmall.

    As for the Philippines specifically, Amanda Woo, CEO of Airasia Super App, told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle, “We are a travel brand and we have already kicked off in Manila. The next thing to do is to draw engagement from all the hotels. We will also make sure to sign up all the major airlines in the Philippines.”

    As of the moment, three hotel groups from the Philippines on board with the app include Okada Manila, Acacia, and Newport World Resorts.

    Amanda also talked about the need of Filipinos for more ride hailing app options, “The next big one is Airasia Ride. To the local scene, it is really relevant because ride is an extension of travel and we know that there are no major and strong players, so we will be the one.”
