Developers building an entertainment district around Arlington’s Globe Life Field are planning to add an apartment project.

Maryland-based developer The Cordish Cos. has teamed up with the Texas Rangers on a $250 million mixed-use project called Texas Live surrounding the stadium.

The Texas Live project is planned to include 200,000 square feet of restaurants, retail and entertainment venues, meeting and convention space, and an outdoor event pavilion.

There’s also the 300-room Live! by Loews Hotel.

Cordish Cos. plans to start construction in the fall on the almost 300-unit, five-story apartment and retail building called One Rangers Way in the project on Nolan Ryan Expressway south of Interstate 30.

The $70 million, 532,459-square-foot project will open in 2024, according to planning documents filed with the state.

Maryland-based architect Hord Coplan Macht designed the project.

Developer Cordish Cos. says the project “will offer residents an urban lifestyle in the heart of Arlington’s Entertainment District. Additionally, the building will feature new retail space and a new public garage.”

“It is all part of a larger $4 billion vision and commitment by the City of Arlington, Texas Rangers, The Cordish Cos and Loews Hotel & Co to transform the Entertainment District into the premier sports, entertainment, hospitality, cultural and lifestyle destination in the country,” a Cordish representative said in an email. “The opening of Texas Live! in 2018, in partnership between the Rangers and Cordish, spurred incredible momentum for additional investment including the opening of the Live! by Loews hotel in 2019, in partnership between the Rangers, Cordish and Loews Hotels & Co, the Rangers’ new Globe Life Field in 2020, the forthcoming Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center, which broke ground in October 2021, and the National Medal of Honor Museum, which broke ground March 25.”

In October, the city of Arlington and Lowes Hotels & Co. broke ground on a $550 million Lowes Arlington Hotel and Convention Center as part of the growing entertainment district.

The convention hotel is set to open in 2024.
