Tahoor Lifestyle, a renowned modest fashion brand, has launched a new outlet at Banani’s Manama Urban Forest Building. With modest fashion taking the world by storm in recent years, thanks to its appeal to Muslim women and fashionistas who prefer sophisticated wear, Tahoor has been a pioneering force in the fashion scene of Bangladesh since its formation in 2012.
“My twin boys were born in 2011 which changed my life instantly. I left my job to not miss out on my boys growing up, at the same time got into modest fashion wears myself and understood there was a demand for modest wears, so decided to open a business centred on modest fashion. That’s how Tahoor came to be,” said Hanium Maria Chowdhury, Founder and CEO of Tahoor Lifestyle.

Located at the ground floor and first floor, the outlet features Tahoor’s signature collections that have proved to be trend setters, along with new chic designer wears that showcases its elegant sensibilities.
What sets Tahoor apart from any other fashion brands is their emphasis on comfortable clothing styles that feels liberating when you are wearing them. Modest fashion’s appeal is all year around, like wearing a cotton midi with shrugs and loose trousers during summer; or during the winter throw in a cape and leggings and even accompanying a scarf for that effortless chic look.
“We mostly follow styles from places like Dubai that are the trendsetters, but we need to adapt our local sensibility and materials more. I have been working with many female entrepreneurs over the years in order to diversify and transform our handmade designed dresses. I really want to incorporate more local materials into the modest fashion segment,” remarked Hanium Maria Chowdhury.
The outlet, Tahoor Lifestyle, also features a corner selling local handcrafted clothes made by female entrepreneurs. There is also a corner dedicated to Monark Studio that sells trendy home décor items and versatile leather items and footwear.
A launching event for the new outlet took place on 6 August, 2022; guests at the launching event were Farzana Khan, GM of SME Foundation, and Hosna Ferdous Sumi, a private sector specialist, among others.
