What are BLDC fans, are they essential for energy-efficient interiors? | Lifestyle Decor

There is hardly any house or building that does not have fans. People often look for good quality fans as they want them to last long enough. Lots of varieties of fans are available in the market today. Among them, the BLDC fans have become incredibly popular.

    What are BLDC fans?

Brushless Direct Current fans could be rightly called the ‘third’ generation among ceiling fans. The most amazing advantage of these fans is that they require minimal electricity. It takes up to 60% less electricity than regular fans.

    Advantages

These fans are extremely attractive and are available in multiple designs and colors. They could be operated using remote controllers. The power-saving feature makes it one of the most sought-after furnishing materials in the market. BLDC motor that is just 28 Watts has been used in these fans. Meanwhile, the regular fans run on an induction motor that takes up to 80 Watts of current. These fans function on DC Brushless technology. Compared to regular fans, these could earn you a yearly profit of around Rs 1500 – 2000.

BLDC fans are inverter friendly as they require less amount of electricity. So, the fans could be operated using inverters for longer periods. Usually, there would be a humming sound when the fans are switched on, especially when they run on inverters. However, BLDC fans are designed to be quieter. As they do not heat up, BLDC fans have longer longevity.

    Disadvantages

One of the major disadvantages of BLDC fans is that they are expensive. Even a basic model costs double the regular fans. As they could be operated using a remote controller, there wouldn’t be a regular. So, the AAA batteries in the remote need to be replaced at intervals. However, this need not be considered a disadvantage.

It is the customer who should make the final call based on their requirements. You could build your dream abode, without breaking the bank, if decisions are taken wisely.
