Black Friday Nintendo Switch live blog: Top deals on consoles, games and more

    Refresh

Surprisingly, Asda’s awesome £279 Switch OLED deal (opens in new tab) is still in stock. Last year, any Switch OLED deal was likely to disappear in a matter of minutes, so we have a feeling this one won’t be hanging around much longer.

This LEGO Harry Potter Switch bundle is the stuff of dreams. If you like those three things, that is. Amazon is currently offering a magical 25 per cent off the game and case bundled together – bringing the price down from £29.99 to only £21.99 (opens in new tab). This is the lowest price we’ve seen (though it is matched at other retailers, also as a Black Friday deal).

    SanDisk SD card Switch

This is our favourite memory card for the Switch, and it has had another price cut of a very-nice-indeed £22. The Animal Crossing SanDisk microSDXC-Card has now been reduced from $129.99 to $57.99 at Amazon (opens in new tab). If you like themed stuff (and who doesn’t?), a lot of storage and a massive discount then this is for you.

Stop EVERYTHING. We’re delighted to announce that the second-lowest price on a Nintendo Switch OLED that’s ever been seen is back in business at Asda. The deal, which sees the console reduced from £309 to just £279 at Asda (opens in new tab) is one of the best offers you’ll get, only surpassed briefly this week by another retailer. We are pretty sure the OLED won’t go much lower this year so we recommend snapping it up immediately.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are undoubtably the games of the moment, and believe it or not, there’s already a deal to be found on a bundle of the games (released this month) and the Switch OLED, down from £389 to £329 at Very (opens in new tab)

    Nintendo Switch OLED

This time last year, Switch OLED deals were nigh-on impossible to find, but thankfully things are different this time. In the UK, Currys has a few deals on the latest console, including this Nintendo Switch OLED + Zelda bundle, down from £379 to £359. (opens in new tab)

Much like last year, it seems one of 2022’s main deals in the UK is a bundle with the infinitely fun Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Right now, you can get a Switch console, Mario Kart and 3 months of Nintendo Switch online for a whopping £78 off, down from £337 to £259 (opens in new tab).

So you’ve got the Switch, but what about the games? Don’t worry – you can find tons of awesome titles with up to 39% off at Amazon (opens in new tab).

    Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals

We’re about to take a break from this blog in a moment, but we’ll be back when the sun’s come up to continue tracking for the best Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals.

For now it seems, that the Nintendo Switch Black Friday deal in the US is a bundle that gets you the original Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 3 months of Switch Online membership for $299 at Walmart (opens in new tab)

The Nintendo Store also had this deal but has sold out, but Amazon (opens in new tab) and Best Buy (opens in new tab) were also running it and had stock at the time of writing, so if Walmart sells out, you’ve got another two options to try.

It’s not a direct saving on the console, but you’re getting a game and 3 months of online membership for free, and that’s the best Nintendo Switch deal we’ve seen in the US.

The same bundle’s available in the UK at Amazon for £259.99 (opens in new tab). But in the UK, there’s a lot more choice in Nintendo Switch Black Friday deals, as you can see in the links above.

    Until tomorrow, happy hunting.

The Nintendo Store’s Black Friday sale is now live in the US too. There aren’t that many deals though, and none of of those free cases flying around like there are in the UK. In fact, the one Switch bundle deal has sold out (it’s still available elsewhere, fortunately).

There are deals on games and accessories though, with up to 40% off (opens in new tab).

Another option to take advantage of the Nintendo Store Black Friday sale in the UK is to build your own bundle. This way you can claim a free case with any combination of console and game. This is valid for all consoles: the original Switch, the Switch Lite and the Switch OLED. There’s a range of cases to choose from, and they’re normally priced either £14.99 or £24.99.

The Official Nintendo Online Store (opens in new tab) has started its Black Friday deal in the UK too. It has up to 33% off selected digital games and 50% off selected Pokémon merchandise.

And the consoles? It has a bunch of bundle deals, but only on the original Switch. One of these we’re seeing at several retailers: Switch + Mario Kart 8 + 3 months online membership for £259.99 (opens in new tab). But it also has options to bundle in a second game and a case with that for £309.99 (opens in new tab). The options for the second game are Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario 3D World and Bowser’s Fury or Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

So, the deal below is funny, but the good news is that all of the UK Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals that we’ve seen over the past few days are still in stock right now. and that includes this much more generous Pokémon Scarlet and Violet bundle from Very. You can get the Nintendo Switch OLED + Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for £389 £329 (opens in new tab), which is pretty great when you consider that the console alone normally retails for £309.99. So thanks, Very; this one’s a real deal!

    Nintendo Switch Black Friday deal

It’s gone midnight in the UK, and we all know what that means. It’s actually Black Friday. Or at least what used to be called Black Friday since it’s become the one day of the year that now lasts an entire month.

So have we seen a sudden explosion of Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals now it’s actually Friday? Erm.. no.. No we haven’t. Unless you count this stonkingly generous £1 saving over at Very. Yes, you read that right. Very has an incredible £1 off Pokémon Scarlet (opens in new tab), and, in fact, £1 off Pokémon Violet (opens in new tab) too – the latest Pokémon games, which were released just a week ago.

    Lego Star Wars

    (opens in new tab)

We’re back. And there’s good and bad news. We’ll start with the latter, Switch consoles deals in the US are sparse to say the least. However, the good news there are some great offers on popular games, which make a great Christmas gift.

A standout offer is over at Amazon, where you can get Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for $37.90 (opens in new tab) – that’s over $22 off the retail price.

Suitable for aged seven and up, this is a fab choice not only for Star Wars fans, but for the whole family to enjoy.

Evening all, it’s just gone 10pm in the UK and we’ve been scouring the web for excellent Switch deals all day. And there’s been some crackers so far, but lots of stock has now sold out and deals have already ended, so we’re back on the hunt to get the best Switch prices on consoles, accessories and games this Black Friday.

Stay tuned. We’re going to grab a coffee and will be back shortly with more Switchy goodness.

    Nintendo Switch Mario kart

    (opens in new tab)

Evening all, if you’re just joining us from the UK, you’re in for a treat. Amazon currently has the original Nintendo Switch, complete with Mario Kart and three months membership online for £259 (opens in new tab)

So what’s the saving, we hear you ask? A Nintendo Switch retails for £259 by itself, so you’re effectively getting the game and online membership thrown in for free here. It’s no surprise to see this is a bestseller over at Amazon right now – grab one before they’re all gone.

    The Nintendo Switch bundle.

OK, we’ll be frank, the current crop of Nintendo Switch deals are leaving a bit to be desired. The truth is, there’s deals on everything around the Switch – such as games and controllers – but the console remains obstinately untouched by discounts.

That is unless you look at bundles. And the king of the Nintendo Switch bundle deals remains this Nintendo Switch Neon Joy-Con + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (GameDownload) + 3 Month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership for $299 at Best Buy (opens in new tab).

It’s by far the best deal that we’re seeing on the console in the US right now…

UK buyers can get the white Switch OLED bundled with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and a 256GB Micro SD card for £379 £359 at Currys (opens in new tab) right now. Despite releasing alongside the Switch’s first launch five years ago, Breath of the Wild is still hailed as one of the best games available on the Nintendo console.

Best Buy are coming through with some great savings on popular titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (opens in new tab), Mario Party Superstars (opens in new tab), Sonic Frontiers (opens in new tab) and Animal Crossing: New Horizons (opens in new tab). Each of these titles currently have a decent $20 off, and if you browse there’s plenty more where that came from.

These are pretty hardcore gamer headphones that can be used with any modern day console and PC, so they’re a great choice for gamers that want to get the most out of Nintendo Switch gaming. Get the Razer Blackshark V2 gaming headset from Amazon now for $99.99 $69.99 (opens in new tab), saving you $30.

I’ve been keeping an eye out for any deals on the Nintendo Pro controller, but no retailer has dropped the price yet… So the second best brand to go for is PowerA. PowerA make some fantastic Nintendo licensed pads that are both stylish and feel good to use: I use one instead of the Pro pad and love it. Amazon has currently discounted a couple of their designs including this Legend of Zelda pad (opens in new tab) and Mario pad (opens in new tab), saving up to $15 on each.

Similar to the deal we first reported on in this blog over in the UK, you can currently get the Switch console bundled with Mario Kart 8 and 3 months of Nintendo Online membership for $299 at Best Buy. (opens in new tab)

We’re travelling across the pond now to look at some US based deals. If you head on over to Dell, you can currently pick up the white Switch OLED bundled with Splatoon 3 and a controller plate for $399 (opens in new tab). Originally retailing at $439.99, this bundle will save you a nifty $40.

A product shot of the SanDisk Micro SD card on a colourful background

The Nintendo Switch doesn’t have the largest amount of internal storage. The modest 32GB quickly gets eaten up if you’re playing plenty of games, so to give yourself more leeway an internal MicroSD is the way to go. Right now you can get the officially Nintendo licensed SanDisk 256GB MicroSD for £77.99 £39.49 at Amazon (opens in new tab), making it nearly half price!

A product shot of the Switch OLED console and Pokemon games on a colourful bacgkround

If you’re an avid Pokemon fan on the market for a shiny new Switch, then this is the deal for you! Currently Very has the white Switch OLED bundled with the brand new Pokemon Violet and Scarlet for £389 £329 (opens in new tab). Considering an OLED console usually retails at £309 by itself, paying an extra £20 for two new game releases usually worth £41.99 each is a steal.

There’s some great discounts on the top Nintendo Switch games right now, especially when it comes to the LEGO series. Below are our top picks of the best savings available right now from Amazon.

This deal is one we’ve seen pretty frequently over the last few days, but it’s still one worth picking up if you haven’t yet. Right now you can pick up the white Switch OLED bundled with 3 games (Minecraft, Mario Kart 8, Animal Crossing) and a Nintendo licensed 256GB Micro SD for £399 (opens in new tab). It’s only a £30 saving from the RRP, but it’s a great starter bundle if you’re looking into getting a Switch!

    Nintendo Switch bundle deal

    (opens in new tab)

Kicking off our live blog is an excellent deal from ao.com, which has the original Nintendo Switch console, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe & Nintendo Switch Online for £259 (opens in new tab)

The console itself retails for £259 on its own, so you’re basically getting a game and online membership thrown in for free. Add in super-fast delivery and it’s by far one of the best Switch deals going in the UK right now.
