RHOC star Braunwyn Windham-Burke admits to only having $2.9K and asks estranged husband for $10K

Braunwyn Windham-Burke revealed she only has $2.9K to her name and has asked her ex, Sean Burke, to give her $10K in alimony, according to court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun. 

The Real Housewives Of Orange County star, 45, claimed in the documents that her estranged husband, Sean Burke, has ‘stopped providing any support’ and that she cannot provide for herself or their seven children. 

The TV personality officially filed for divorce from Sean after 23 years of marriage earlier this year in October, two years after coming out as a lesbian in 2020. 

In the court documents, Braunwyn explained her situation and stated, ‘I am unemployed. Except for two years during our nearly 23-year marriage, I have stayed home to care for our seven children.’ 

She also explained that she had ‘relied’ on Sean to be responsible for ‘all financial security since I was 20 years old.’ 

The TV personality added that she has, ‘been kept in the dark regarding the true extent of our business interests and assets.’ 

The former Real Housewives star expressed that she has been, ‘unable to provide for my own support or the support of our children,’ and that a ‘family member’ has been helping with, ‘basic living expenses and even expenses for our children.’ 

Divorce: The reality star officially filed for divorce from Sean earlier in October, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ after 23 years of marriage 

Initial filing: When filing for divorce at the time, she had also requested spousal support and had asked Sean to pay attorney fees, along with dividing personal property, reported People.

After admitting to having $2.9K in a combination of cash along with her checking and savings account in a ‘income and expense declaration,’ she asked that Sean give her ‘temporary’ spousal support amounting to $10K per month. 

The star claimed that her ex is believed to make a monthly income of around $65K, along with an additional $10K from another source, as he is both a president and COO ‘for one company.’

Braunwyn filed for divorce from her husband in October and cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ after 23 years of marriage, and being together for 28 years overall. 

The reality star and businessman share seven children together, Bella, 22, Rowan, 20, Jacob, 17, twins Caden and Cureen, both 9, Koa, 7, and Hazel, 4.  

Family: The former reality star shares three children with Sean, and wrote in court documents that she has been, ‘unable to provide for my own support or the support of our children’ 

Asking for support: After admitting to having $2.9K in a combination of cash along with her checking and savings account, she asked that Sean give her ‘temporary’ spousal support amounting to $10K per month; seen in June in NYC 

When filing for divorce at the time, she had also requested spousal support and had asked Sean to pay attorney fees, along with dividing personal property, reported People.   

Braunwyn also requested to have physical custody of their children, with Sean being allowed visitation rights. 

In the recent documents obtained by The U.S. Sun, the former reality star revealed that she and Sean had ‘communicated well’ and appeared to be having a healthy co-parenting relationship ‘until recently.’ 

The mother of seven had claimed that Sean had started to become ‘increasingly aggressive’ and that his girlfriend, whose name has been kept private, had also been aggressive, such as ‘making threats’ with both text and call. 

Due to the alleged issues that have recently surfaced, Braunwyn had stated that she believed it was their, ‘children’s best interests to reside primarily with me and have custodial periods’ with Sean in order to have a ‘healthy and less angry environment.’

‘Aggressive’: In the documents obtained by The U.S. Sun, Braunwyn had claimed that Sean had ‘recently’ become ‘aggressive’ towards her

At the time of filing, Braunwyn had opened up to People and stated, ‘Those who have followed our story probably aren’t surprised to find out how difficult attempting to create a ‘modern family’ is.’ 

She had added, ‘I will always have so much love for the family we created that will continue to flourish and thrive.’ 

In 2020, the star had come out as lesbian, and is currently in a relationship with Jennifer Spinner. After coming out, Braunwyn and Sean had remained married until she filed for divorce.
