Busting myths to hit gym for an effective fitness regimen | Lifestyle Health

In the modern world staying fit isn’t just about looking stylish. It’s about taking care of a wide range of aspects related to one’s physique, mind, personality, and so on. However, there are several myths, and beliefs which may hold one back from hitting the gym. Here are some myths that should be avoided to pursue gym fitness without inhibition.

Myth: Going to the gym can stunt your growth
Going to the gym does not stunt your growth rather it helps in the betterment of your physical growth and helps you mentally as well.

Myth: Lifting weights makes you impotent
It’s a myth that lifting weights does not make you impotent. This is talked about in the case of men only. Lifting weights boost testosterone in men and help them get stronger and build better muscle.

Myth: Protein powders and creatine are steroids and can damage your kidneys
Protein powders are not steroids but a by-product of milk. Creatine is not a steroid either. It’s a naturally occurring amino acid found in meat and in our body. It helps in providing a continuous supply of energy to your muscles during intense lifting or exercise.

At the end of the day, it’s all about finding a balance. Avoiding a group of food items or embracing a particular type of food for a long period without the proper guidance of an expert might do more harm than good. Even letting cultural barriers pose a hindrance to one’s fitness aspirations is not a good idea. What is needed is a proper fitness regimen buttressed by scientifically proven guidelines and not thwarted by myths and hearsay.
