More Cowboy Carter has arrived!
Beyoncé has shared a surprise remix of “Texas Hold ‘Em” — as well as a new website.
The track, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts in February, received a new layer of bounce as well as a new verse and breakdown in a “Pony Up” remix, released Thursday, April 4.
On the “Texas Hold ‘Em” revamp, the megastar, 42, calls “all my cowboys to the dancefloor,” then demands listeners “get on the dancefloor!”

On the updated second verse, Beyoncé adds a little more country to the lyrics: “Woke up this mornin’, my heart keeps racin’/ Straight to the bottom, we all need salvation (Come take it to the floor now, ooh)/ Need you to in this drought, take me downtown/ Gon’ leave the truck, whiskey, baby/ Let’s get weekend wasted/ Might as well just throw it all (Woo-woo)/ And pony up, bitch, don’t hold back on me.”
She also gave the song’s outro a new twist: “Pony up and salute your town/ Chasin’ our sins away, way brown/ And I’ll be damned if I cannot dance with you/ Baby, pour that sugar and liquor on me, too/ Furs, spurs, boots.”
Along with dropping the new rendition of “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Beyoncé launched a cryptic new website this week called beencountry.com, which features throwback shots of the “16 Carriages” artist as a child singing at the Texas Sweetheart Pageant during her teenage years, as well as a more recent image of her in cowboy attire — a low-cut American flag-printed top and furry chaps. Also showcased on the site are images of a banjo and her slogan “This ain’t a country album. This is a ‘Beyoncé’ album.”
Fans on social media have noted that posters featuring “beencountry” photos have been appearing in Los Angeles.

The 32-time Grammy winner released her eighth studio album, Cowboy Carter, on March 29.
Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson are among the featured artists. Parton, 78, guests on “Dolly P” and “Tyrant,” while Nelson, 90, can be heard on “Smoke Hour Willie Nelson” and “Smoke Hour II.”
Miley Cyrus and Post Malone also appear on the album. The Disney Channel alum, 31, joins the Houston native for the track “II Most Wanted.” Meanwhile, the “Sunflower” artist, 28, teamed up with Beyoncé for a song called “Levii’s Jeans.” Shaboozey, who blends hip-hop and country, shows up on “Spaghettii.”
Other Black country artists that appear on Cowboy Carter include Rhiannon Giddens, Tanner Adell, and Willie Jones. Addell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts joined Beyoncé for her cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” While Giddens plays banjo on “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Jones contributed to “Just for Fun.”
