    Top gainers and losers on Nifty at mid-day: Bajaj Finance up, Adani Enterprises down

    At 12:20 pm, the Sensex was down 206.21 points or 0.32 percent at 65,191.41, and the Nifty was down 83.60 points or 0.43 percent at 19,459.10. About 632 shares advanced, 2,612 shares declined, and 127 shares unchanged.

    .,,. Bajaj Finance Ltd: Shares of the company rose 0.5  percent to Rs 7,809. The surge in the share price comes after three consecutive sessions of decline. Recently, brokerage firm Macquarie upgraded the stock to outperform from underperform.

    .,. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd: Shares of the pharma major rose 0.4 percent to Rs 5,592 on October 23, snapping its two-day losing streak on the bourses. About 2 lakh shares changed hands as against the 1-week average of 4 lakh shares.

The gains come after the bank registered 35.7 percent year-on-year growth in standalone profit and a 24 percent rise in net interest income in the July-September quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24 (Q2), with a significant fall in bad loan provisions.

In Q2, it reported a standalone net profit of Rs 2,717 crore for the September quarter, up 3.86 percent from the year-ago period. India’s largest FMCG company’s revenue rose 3.53 percent to Rs 15,027 crore from a year ago, the company said in an exchange filing.

    .,. Nestle India Ltd: Shares of the maggi-maker rose for the third day in a row on October 23 to Rs 24,300, up 0.02 percent. The company reported a 36 percent surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 908 crore for the September quarter of FY24 as against Rs 668.3 crore a year ago. Total revenue of the company stood at Rs 5,036 crore, rising 9.6 percent from Rs 4,591 crore a year ago, the FMCG major said in a regulatory filing.

    .,., Adani Enterprises Ltd: Shares of the flagship Adani firm tanked over 2 percent to Rs 2,330 on October 23. This is the seventh straight session that the stock has fallen. About 8 lakh shares changed hands against the 1-week average of 10 lakh shares.
